VoxBee is built around a simple principle: your voice and your text never leave your device. All speech recognition happens locally using on-device models. No audio or transcription data is ever sent to our servers or any third party.
What we do not collect
- Your audio recordings
- Your transcribed text
- Your clipboard contents
- Keystrokes or content from other apps
- Names, email addresses, or personal identifiers
What we do collect
We collect anonymous, aggregate usage telemetry to understand how VoxBee is used and to improve the product. This data is sent to PostHog, our analytics provider. The following events are tracked:

None of these events include your transcribed text, audio, or any personally identifiable information.
Website analytics
The VoxBee website uses Google Analytics to measure page views and traffic sources. This is standard web analytics and does not interact with the desktop app in any way.
License activation
When you activate a license key, VoxBee sends your license key, a hardware identifier, and your device name (e.g. “John’s MacBook Pro”) to Polar.sh (our payment and licensing provider) to validate and activate your license. This is the only network request the app makes that includes device-specific information. Your license key and activation ID are stored locally in your macOS Keychain.
Data storage
All your data — transcription history, settings, and preferences — is stored locally on your Mac. Nothing is synced to the cloud. If you delete VoxBee, your data is removed with it.
